Reentry Services

CIC is the Lead Agency for The Essex County Reentry Task Force
Adult Reentry Services:
New Life/New Beginnings Pathways To Victory (NL-NB), a rigorous collaborative effort, is a cutting-edge initiative designed to provide support services to the formerly incarcerated by teaching participants how to become self-sufficient; developing their positive behaviors for the enhancement of community safety and providing resources and other levels of support to aid in recidivism reduction. In addition to normal business hours, the program uniquely provides services on weekends and after hours. With women having different needs from men, the reentry services are provided to each group separately and are gender specific. CIC focused on female reentry only from 2005 to 2007 and still places an emphasis on this population to meet their realized special needs.
Juvenile Reentry Services
The Reentry Wellness Program services young adults ages 14 to 21 designed to further develop a sustainable reentry service delivery system for probationers/parolees to build a more comprehensive community reintegration network to prevent recidivism for youth transitioning from JJC residential/secure facilities.
The Essex County Prisoner Reentry Task Force
Comprised of many constituents from government agencies to local community and faith-based organizations who provide Prison Reentry Services to the formerly incarcerated returning to Essex County New Jersey, the task force is dedicated to examining the impact of formidable obstacles in the reentry process while seeking to promote change and enhancing and improving the scope of services delivered to Essex
County's returnees. Additionally, members’ enthusiasm has kept ex-offender reentry and reintegration in front of policymakers, ensuring that they and other key
stakeholders are fully apprised of the challenges that Essex County faces and are actively engaged in identifying and implementing solutions. Annually, the task force hosts a state-wide reentry consortium bringing stakeholder, employers and governmental agencies together with successful formerly incarcerated citizens making positive contributions to society where positives are being spotlighted to establish a wide-spread progressive awareness.
